ChatGPT Dots in the EU and UK: who can use OpenAI Dots?
OpenAI Dots / ChatGPT Dots regional FAQ: Pro excludes EEA, UK, and Switzerland at launch; Business Premium and Enterprise worldwide rollout.
Short answer
At launch, ChatGPT Pro Dots are for users over 18 outside the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, and Switzerland. Business Premium and Enterprise are described as rolling out worldwide, with Enterprise off until an admin enables Use dots (Beta).
Source: Meet dots · Access. Rollout can still be gradual—you may not see Dots immediately even when eligible (availability overview).
What that means if you’re in the EU / UK / Switzerland
Published launch wording by plan:
- Pro 100 / 200 / 500 — Not in the initial Pro regional set (EEA, UK, and Switzerland excluded).
- Business Premium — Worldwide rollout (supported ChatGPT regions).
- Enterprise (incl. Edu / Healthcare) — Worldwide rollout; admin must enable Use dots (Beta).
- Free / Go / Plus / Business Standard — Not in the initial Dots rollout.
Always re-check Access and your account’s plan page—regional eligibility can change. Same split discussed in OpenAI dots regional availability — SmartScope.
If you need Dots from an excluded Pro region
Practical options grounded in published plans (not workarounds we invent):
- See whether your workplace offers Business Premium or Enterprise with Dots enabled.
- Watch OpenAI Dots updates and official Access for Pro regional expansion.
- Use the not showing checklist if your plan should already include Dots.
We do not recommend VPN or account-region tricks; they can violate terms and break billing/support.
Usage still works the same where Dots are available
Wherever you can create a Dot: conversations with your Dot do not count toward ChatGPT usage limits; Work/Codex tasks do. Details: pricing and usage limits.
